
Sam joined the Florida Justice Institute in 2019. He graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. in Geography and minors in Political Science and Asian Studies. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he earned the Charles G. Albom Prize for excellence in appellate advocacy in connection with a law school clinical program. During law school, he co-chaired both the Latino/a Law Students Association and the Alliance for Diversity. He provided direct legal representation and advocacy through the Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic.
After graduation, he served as a Yale Public Interest Fellow at the New York Civil Liberties Union. He then completed clerkships for Judge Joseph A. Greenaway Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Judge Guido Calabresi on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and Judge Edgardo Ramos in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
He is a member of the Florida Bar and the New York Bar and is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
